Why we wrote this
Akroterion is an independent editorial project — not affiliated with any institution or ticketing service.
We are a small team of writers, classicists and travellers who returned from the Sacred Rock again and again with the same feeling: that the marble deserves better than a hurried selfie.
These guides are written slowly, fact-checked against published scholarship, and translated into six languages so the stones can speak in the visitor's own.
We accept no advertising and recommend no tours. The only thing we ask is that you climb early, look long, and leave nothing behind.
